TEXTILE COMPANIES OF ITALY AND PAKISTAN PARTICIPATING IN "FASHION INDUSTRY" EXHIBITION IN PETERSBURG

  As RIA Novosti was told in the exhibition's organising committee, around 450 Russian and foreign companies producing fabrics, clothes, underwear, head-gear, footwear and leather haberdashery will participate in Fashion Industry. Ten enterprises of Italy's oldest textile region, Biella, which is the world leader in the production of fabrics, will display their products at the show for the first ever time. Producers from Pakistan, the world's main cotton producer, will also participate in the exhibition for the first time. They will display cotton fabrics for bed-cloths, fabrics for outdoor clothes, knitted fabrics for underwear, and special fabrics for overalls.

The Crystal Tailor's Dummy competition of author's collections will be a signal event at the exhibition. Furthermore, a gala show of the best works of the Fashion Industry participants and of the winners of the Crystal Tailor's Dummy spring competition of author's collections will be held.

The business part of Fashion Industry includes also a few seminars of authors.

The Fashion Industry international exhibition of the textile and light industries will work till October 10.

The first Fashion Industry exhibition was held in 1993.
